GEO5 contains programs for design of rectangular and circular spread footings, strip foundations, and foundation slabs of a general shape . Aswell as several programs for design and analysis of pile foundations. Not only the software allows to verify the bearing capacity and settlement, but also reinforcement of an RC structure.
The GEO5 Spread Footing program is used for isolated footing and strip footing design (including spread footing with haunch bearing capacity). It enables verification of bearing capacity of a foundation on both, drained and undrained soil and rock subsoil. The program also calculates the settlement and rotation of the foundation and allows designing reinforcement for the foundation.
The GEO5 Slab program is designated for analysis of foundation mats and slabs on elastic subsoil. The program uses the Winkler-Pasternak model and is able to calculate C1 and C2 constants from deformation properties of soil – piles can be model as springs.
Internal forces and deformations of strip foundation can be calculated by the GEO5 Beam program. Program allows to calculate values of C1, C2 from input soil profile.
It is also possible to verify some problems (eg. circular force) using the finite element method in the GEO5 FEM program using axisymetry.
The Pile program is designed to verify vertical bearing capacity of a compressive and tensile pile, pile settlement and horizontal bearing capacity of a single pile. It is also possible to design and verify a reinforcement of different types of piles, which can be divided according to pilling method as driven, bored or CFA piles.
The Micropile program verifies tube micropiles (made from steel tube). When analysing the bearing capacity of the micropile, the root part and cross section of the micropile are verified.
